Third Sunday of Easter

COLLECT
Risen Christ, you revealed yourself to the disciples, and calmed their fears: meet us in our uncertainties and walk with us into the new life you bring; for you live and reign with the Father, and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

READING: Acts 3: 12-19
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has given divine glory to his Servant Jesus. But you handed him over to the authorities, and you rejected him in Pilate’s presence, even after Pilate had decided to set him free.

GOSPEL ACCORDING TO Luke 24:36b-48
44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you–that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.”
45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures,
46 and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day,
47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.

Blessing
Go now, sent by the one who comes and stands amongst us.
Calling us to witness to his redemptive wounds;
Proclaiming to the nations, repentance and forgiveness of sins in his name;
In the conviction that we in him, are God’s beloved children;
The blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be among us, and remain with us always. Amen

Commissioning/Sending
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. alleluia, alleluia.
In the name of Christ. Amen. alleluia, alleluia
